Nimber goes last mile with a smile

Nimber is pleased to announce that it has teamed up with Norway’s largest meat, eggand poultry producer, Nortura, to provide direct deliveries to customers in the Oslo region by tapping into its “going your way anyway” crowd delivery platform.

"This is our first move in to the attractive and growing “last mile” delivery space where traditional retailers need new delivery models to provide more cost effective, convenient and sustainable delivery solutions", notes Ari Kestin, Nimber's CEO.

"Nimber’s DNA has always been about community. We utilize existing and spare capacity to create the most convenient and sustainable delivery solution. Today, we are embarking on the next phase by matching our amazing community of bringers with retailers", Kestin says.

"In this project (Minkiosk), it has been very important for us to find new, innovative, smart and more sustainable delivery solutions. In Nimber, we found what we were looking for”, says Kristine Pollen Briså, Director of innovation and sales for New Business in Nortura.

"Traditional delivery models are fine, but they are often not a match for the modern-day retailer. Nimber’s flexible, social and green delivery solution allows Nortura and other retailers to go a step further to meet customer expectations”, says Kestin.

Since the launch of the service in 2013, Nimber has helped consumers deliver more than 25,000 items. From the perfect couch to that forgotten passport. Between cities and within. Nimber has successfully built a vibrant delivery marketplace in its home market in Norway, by matching deliveries with everyday people going that way, anyway. Since moving to London and launching the service there in Q4 2015 and having partnered with leading classifieds in both Norway and UK, Nimber passed the 100,000-community mark last year. The solution is suitable in a wide array of delivery verticals. Nimber’s first port of call is to address the need to solve non-traditional (bulky, heavy or hard to package) deliveries across metropolitan areas.

Nimber reveals 2014 growth

Nimber, the community delivery service, has hit an all-important milestone by surpassing the 30,000 user mark. The company has continued its growth on the strength of the Scandinavian market and continues to grow as evidenced by a 425% increase in delivery requests from 2013 to 2014. Nimber has also recently announced a plan to expand its service into the United Kingdom this Spring.

“We are very excited to take the unbelievable momentum we are seeing in Norway and carry that with us into the UK. Our community is our backbone, it’s what makes us go and we are going very well,” said CEO Ari Kestin.

The Nimber team will launch in UK imminently, and are working on revamped applications for both iOS and Android that should hit the UK market later this spring.

In addition to the numbers above, Nimber has also released the information that their Bringers travelled an astonishing 1.7 million km last year taking deliveries all over Scandinavia.

“By having deliveries go with people already heading that way we saved an estimated 577 tonnes worth of CO2 emissions. That’s extraordinary and I can’t wait to see the numbers next year with our continued growth and the addition of the UK market,” Kestin added.

Nimber has successfully built a vibrant delivery marketplace in tiny home market Norway, and a couple of weeks after it's global release now has a community of 23,000, signed-up from almost 70 countries around the world.

Easybring is history: meet Nimber!

The social delivery service is renamed Nimber.

The company has decided to put an end to the nonsensical name dispute by rebranding the service as Nimber, and thus readying company for next phase of its international rollout.

"A recent legal victory against easyGroup confirms our position and right", says Nimber CEO Ari Kestin, "but we know from a similar victory against Norway Post that big corporations have endless resources to appeal, and we prefer to use our existing — and spare — capacity on our community. Time to do what's smart, not only what's right", continues Kestin.

Last week, easyGroup lost an appeal regarding ownership of the word 'easy'. Some months ago, Norway Post succeeded in overturning a decision by Norway's Patent office that rejected their claimed ownership of the verb 'bring'. However, the brand change does not diminish the company's rights to the name Easybring.

"Nimber is now ready to solve the world's delivery needs by utilizing every movement", says Kestin. "A new chapter has begun, and we can now focus 100 percent on making our vision a reality for all".

Social delivery service Easybring lets community suggest a new name

A few weeks after its global release, Easybring is reaching out to its community to help select a new name with the aim of ending legal battles with easyGroup, who claims ownership of the word 'easy' and with Norway Post, who brand their services to businesses with the verb 'bring'. These claims are contested, however.

"Our vision is to utilize every movement to solve the world's delivery needs", says Easybring CEO Ari Kestin. "Our focus should be to disrupt the transport industry, not spend our precious resources fighting corporations in court. We are players in the Sharing Economy, and our interest is to create services that people want and love", continues Kestin.

The collaborative economy startup is now reaching out to the community to suggest a new brand name for the service, and is accepting suggestions and votes on www.easybring.com/names

"Unlike a traditional corporation, our service belongs to the peers who represent the brand every day", says Easybring CMO Kei Grieg Toyomasu. "We are working on a shortlist, but would love to get some help finding names that are unique, catchy and ones that would appeal to people in markets across the globe".

Easybring has successfully built a vibrant delivery marketplace in tiny home market Norway, and a couple of weeks after global release now has 22,000 users signed up from 66 countries around the world.

Yay! Easybring launching social delivery platform in Denmark

Easybring's new freemium service will debut to Danish users, as one of Northern Europe's most popular collaborative services today releases its Danish version.

Easybring is a marketplace that connects transport capacity in every movement with those that need to deliver. The service is a big success in its tiny home market Norway where over 17,000 already signed up for the service. Easybring is now preferred logistics partner for some of Norway's largest e-commerce sites, such as FINN.no.

”Many Danes have contacted us and requested access to the service. Denmark is known as one of the world's most environmentally friendly country, so the service is expected to fit well with Danish mentality. In addition to that, we're happy to give away free insurance to our first Danish friends posting delivery tasks to the service”, says Easybring CEO Ari Kestin (with a big smile on his face).

”We worked around the clock to prepare the service for release in Europe, and we can't wait to introduce it to the Danish people”, says Product Manager Marius Røstad. ”We developed new algorithms that will give Denmark the most advanced sharing service available”.

Danish users will be the first to enjoy all the intelligent new functionality to be rolled out across Europe, and Easybring is preparing a big marketing campaign for both Denmark and the rest of Europe as all the pieces come together.
